Anniversary celebrations at Alstertal Shopping Centre

Forty years ago, the Alstertal Shopping Centre (Alstertal-Einkaufszentrum or AEZ) opened its doors for the first time, offering 100 stores and 32,000m2 of shopping. Today, following the latest big expansion in 2006, the AEZ now spans 59,000m2 filled with 240 stores, making it one of Northern Germany’s largest shopping and community centres. It’s not only an excellent meeting point for Hamburg’s residents, it also serves as an economic engine in the region as a provider of jobs for over 2,000 people.

Through land and on water: the Beatles barge tour in Hamburg

The ship rental company Barkassen-Meyer is offering a tour of a special kind - for all of those interested in the beginnings of the Fab Four in Hamburg: a guided tour of the Beatlemania Beatles museum, then on to the Reeperbahn, rounded off with a barge tour through the harbour.
